St. Mary’s Center for Orthopedics seeks to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients in Southern and Central Maine. Our goal is to provide the highest in quality services to patients and their families, referring physicians, coaches, athletic trainers and anyone else interested in state-of-the-art orthopaedic care. Our team is committed to helping people of all ages and skill levels regain and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.


WAYNE MOODY, MD

Dr. Wayne Moody is the Medical Director at St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics and is one of the state’s most accomplished surgeons, specializing in hip, knee, and shoulder replacements.

Dr. Moody earned his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and completed his residency in Orthopaedic surgery and Traumatology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Moody has helped design prosthetic knee and hip joints, as well as the tools necessary to implant them. He participates in a Visiting Surgeon program in which surgeons from all over the United States and Europe visit his practice to observe his procedures and learn new skills.

Dr. Moody is pleased to be the first orthopaedic surgeon in New England to be performing knee replacement surgery using the advanced Exactech GPS Guided Surgery System. To learn more about this innovative equipment and its benefits for patients, please click this link.

Meet Dr. Wayne Moody


DANIEL BUCK, DPM

Dr. Daniel Buck brings a valuable specialty in podiatry to the St. Mary’s Orthopaedic Team. While new to the St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics, he has had privileges at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center since 2003.  As a member of the Orthopaedics team, he not only treats patients with a wide range of foot challenges, he also works closely with Dr. David Wexler on complex foot and ankle problems.

A partial list of the services and procedures offered by Dr. Buck:

  • Soft tissue and bony surgeries of the foot and ankle
  • Bunion and hammertoe surgery
  • Plantar fasciitis and related conditions
  • Foot and ankle reconstruction and revision
  • Podiatric sports medicine
  • Diabetic and non-diabetic foot care

His medical degree was earned at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. Dr. Buck completed his Residency requirements at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He is a Fellow of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Along with his medical degree, Dr. Buck has also earned a law degree from the University of Maine School of Law located in Portland, Maine.

He enjoys most types of outdoor endurance sports and has been part of many international mountain climbing expeditions.  He is married to Dr. Marsha O’Rourke.

BRUCE HAMILTON-DICK, MD, FACSM

Dr. Hamilton-Dick is an exceptional orthopaedist who brings a wide range of skills to the St. Mary’s Center for Orthopedics. His primary interests are in sports medicine and advanced arthroscopic treatment of complex ligament, cartilage, bone, and soft tissue injuries of the hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle.

Prior to joining St. Mary’s, Dr. Hamilton-Dick was an Orthopaedic Fellowship Consultant to the Boston Red Sox and Worcester Ice Cats professional hockey club. He served as the Director of Sports Medicine for the U.S. Olympic Field Hockey Association during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, and was the Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Hamilton-Dick is a former nationally ranked triathlete. He is board and fellowship trained in both family practice and Orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Hamilton-Dick is the Director of Sports Medicine at St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics.

He is married with five children. Both he and his wife, Carrie, enjoy outdoor pursuits such as hiking, biking, and swimming, as well as being actively involved in their children’s academic and athletic pursuits.

ROBERT W. SCHNEIDER, M.D.

Dr. Schneider earned his medical degree from University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he also performed his residency in orthopaedics.

He has an extensive medical background in orthopaedic surgery covering both general and emergency procedures. He has practiced in a number of locations, stretching from Texas to Maine. Dr. Schneider is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

DAVID WEXLER, MD, FRCS

Dr. David Wexler brings his expertise of lower extremity orthopaedic treatments including joint reconstruction of the hip, knee, ankle and foot. During his many years as a surgeon, Dr. Wexler’s training includes various subspecialties that provide broad experience, not only in total joint replacements, but also in stabilizing vertebral compression fractures and other orthopaedic conditions.

Dr. Wexler received his medical degree from Saint Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London, England. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons with specialty training in orthopaedics and trauma, and has fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, AZ.

Dr. Wexler is an associate Member of the American Associate of Orthopaedic Surgeons. and is currently a team physician for the England Football (Soccer) Team.

His interests include photography, films, food, traveling, and music.

VALERIE S. ATTIA, PA-C

Valerie Attia, PA-C received her undergraduate degree in biology/pre-med concentration from Gordon College, and her Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia University. She completed a series of clinical rotations in various specialties, including orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, OBGYN, emergency medicine, primary care, and pediatrics. One of her special interests is Orthopaedic Surgery, in which she has been practicing during the last several years.

Valerie is board certified as a Physician Assistant with the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Her hobbies include singing, playing the guitar, skiing, fishing, and anything else outdoors.

KRISTINA CHADWICK, PA-C

Kristina Chadwick, PA-C, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire, and obtained her Physician Assistant Certificate from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.

Kris has over 13 years of orthopaedic experience and hospitalist medicine. As a mid-level provider at St Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics, Kris assists with surgery and cares for patients in the hospital, as well as in the office.

She is married with two children, and enjoys outdoor activities and watching her children participate in their various endeavors.

PATRICIA HUTCHINS, ARNP-C

Patricia Hutchins, ARNP-c graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Medical Physics from Northeastern University, and obtained her Nurse Practitioner Masters Degree at the University of Southern Maine. She has also obtained speciality training in cardiovascular critical care medicine, with CCM certification.

Patricia has 6 years of Cardiovascular/Endovascular Surgery experience, as well as experience in urgent care medicine. As a Nurse Practitioner provider at St Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics, Patricia assists with surgery and cares for patients in the hospital, as well as in the office.

She loves all outdoor activities, especially hiking mount Katahdin, all water sports, sky diving, bungee jumping, and white water rafting.

CINDY SCRIBNER, NP

Cindy Scribner, NP, received her Master of Science in Nursing and completed specialty training in Critical Care and Trama at the University of California, San Francisco. Cindy completed a Post Masters Certificate at Northeastern University and holds a Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Cindy worked previously as the Trauma Coordinator, and later the Trauma and General Surgery Nurse Practitioner, at Central Maine Medical Center. She was also been part of the Clinical Faculty at Central Maine Community College.

Her other interests are life style medicine and enjoys spending time with her dog, Kelsey.
